Des Plaines Mandira
Jalaram Bapa, a well-known saint of India, lived from c. 1800 to 1881 CE in Virpur (near Rajkot, Gujarat). He was the middle son of devout parents, Pradhanbhai Thakkar and Rajbai. His wife, Virbai, accepted his wanting to renounce worldly life at a young age. They established a center in order to serve saints and the needy. With the remembrance of Lord Rama, Jalaram Bapa indiscriminately fed and served all that came to Virpur.
Gunatitanand Swami once stopped at Virpur on His way from Junagadh where Jalaram Bapa eagerly served Him. Gunatitanand Swami was very pleased with Jalaram Bapa and blessed that his name will be celebrated throughout India and the town of Virpur will be a grand pilgrimage point!
