Based on Swami Ni Vato, Kakaji repeatedly emphasized forming intimacy with bhagavadees or fellow devotees:
In Swami Ni Vato 1/238, Gunatitanand Swami explains, "If one attaches his/her soul to 2 good saints and 3 good devotees, then he/she will not fall from satsanga."
In Swami Ni Vato 2/8, Gunatitanand Swami explains, "To attach one's soul to a good bhagavadee is the only means to remain in satsanga."
In Swami Ni Vato 2/157, Gunatitanand Swami explains, "Maharaj said that in order not to fall from satsanga attach one's soul to all saints and satsangees. After saying this, he went down to finally saying, if one attaches his soul to atleast 2 good saints and 4 good satsangees, one will not fall - and without doing this, in adverse place, time, etc. one would [fall from satsanga]."
In Swami Ni Vato 11/89, Gunatitanand Swami explains, "Real satsanga is to attach one's soul to 4 good devotees and 2 good saints, and to have aatmabuddhi with such ekaantikas."
In Swami Ni Vato 11/187, Gunatitanand Swami explains, "One should attach his soul to 2 [devotees], and second, keep detachment from the senses."
(Kakaji used to say while one devotee possesses a style that supports one's nature, the other devotee should be of an opposing nature and thus challenges one's ideas.)
