RAMBAI'S DEVOTION
February 09, 2001
Friday Meeting

Swaminarayan Bhagwan reveals that a faithful devotee believes that he has attained all and is thus convinced of his own liberation. Further, such a devotee believes that by the grace of God, those who come in his own contact will also receive liberation. Swaminarayan Bhagwan talks about such faith in Vachanamrut Gadhada First 72 and Vadtal 12. Rambai, a devotee from Swaminarayan Bhagwan's time, had such faith.

Given in Swami Ni Vato 9/219, Rambai was the only devotee of Swaminarayan Bhagwan in the village of Kathlal (near Mahemdabad). When Swaminarayan Bhagwan rode through Kathlal on His horse, Rambai brought a pot of water and said, "Maharaj, no one else in this village is a satsangee (devotee) right now." While on His horse, Swaminarayan Bhagwan thus dipped His foot in the pot of water. When Swaminarayan Bhagwan asked her what she would do with the water, she said she would put it in the village well so that everyone would become devotees. Due to Rambai's faith, to this day, the town is filled with devotion!
