Janbai*, a Muslim devotee, instructed her sons to devote to manifest God. Her son, Harji Thakkar (of Peethalpar), served Swaminarayan Bhagwan with great devotion. In fact, as an accountant, Harji Thakkar looked after Ebhel Khachar's land and finances. In Swami Ni Vato 6/212, 9/183, and 13/14, Gunatitanand Swami gives the example of Harji Thakkar who, incurring a loss, left his town to stay with God in Gadhada.

*Janbai had the desire to serve food to Swaminarayan Bhagwan, but passed away before her wish could be fulfilled. She thus took birth as the daughter of Panchuba, named Hiru. (Panchuba was Dada Khachar's step-sister.) Swaminarayan Bhagwan explained this when Hiru died at the young age of 5, a few days after serving food to Swaminarayan Bhagwan.
