Once, while Lord Shiva and Parvati were traveling on Nandi (the Bull, their celestial vehicle), they saw Bharatji sewing a garment below. When Lord Shiva began praising Bharatji as a great devotee, Parvati insisted that they pay him a visit. But when Parvati approached Bharatji, he did not even lift his head to acknowledge her. Parvati was thus astonished how a great devotee could remain so engrossed in his work. Finally however, Bharatji responded, "Dear mother, where isn't my God - he is in this needle, in the thread, in my heart..." Parvati thus realized why Lord Shiva so highly praised Bharatji.
