|TO STAY IN AKSHARDHAM|
|March 21, 2004 |
In Swami Ni Vato 1/89, Gunatitanand Swami explains, "It is said that monkeys do not stay in Vaikunth. Thus, we should cultivate such a nature that allows us to stay with God. We should do that here or after going to Shvetdvip."
After Lord Rama defeated the demon Ravan, before going back to Vaikunth (Lord Rama's Abode), he decided to liberate every soul in Ayodhya. Lord Rama asked everyone to bathe in the Saryu River, including the monkeys. Immediately, the monkeys assumed a chaturbhuj (four-armed) divine form, and went to Vaikunth. However, because their nature was not purified, they left heaven.
